Who We Are.
Blulite started with two brothers, Rey and Doch, a single fire bowl, and a stretch of sand in Pacific Beach. We didn’t have much back then—in fact, our signature dug-in seating only happened because we couldn’t afford to buy chairs. But as we dug, we kept finding the nails, glass, other dangers left behind by previous visitors. And after too many nights getting home with burning eyes and lungs, we started learning about the nuisance wood fires are to our neighbors, and all the ways they unintentionally harm our precious coastal ecosystem.
What began as a way to share a California sunset with travelers from around the world, from the tiny hostel where we worked, quickly grew into a mission to protect the shoreline we call home. As a family and veteran-owned team, we realized we couldn't do everything, but we could do this one thing better than anyone else: creating world-class bonfire experiences you will never forget.
It may sound cheesy, but the San Diego shores have become deeply important to us personally; they’re a sanctuary that are a big part of our mental health. There is a certain, undeniable "zen" to being out on the sand, and there’s also second-hand joy from seeing the personal connections and relaxation made possible by the atmosphere and event we designed together. You can stop worrying and just enjoy it, because we’ve already sweated the details so you don't have to, ensuring that whether it’s a family reunion or a high-stakes corporate event, everything is "second to none."

We’ve come a long way from our humble beginnings, but our goal hasn't changed: if we’re going to do it, we’re going to do it the absolute best. We handle all the planning and work, from helping reserve and permit your private beach location to building your custom event space with 360-degree dug-in seating, smokeless propane fire rings, and premium add-ons like movie screens and full catering.
Bonfires are part of the fabric of San Diego life, and you can trust us to make sure yours is second to none. We do it the right way—by hand—because it’s the only way to ensure the warmth you feel comes from more than just the fire. We obsess over the details so you can walk away with a legendary memory that stays with you long after the fire goes out.
Our Environmental Mission
At Blulite, we believe a successful bonfire means the air stays clear and the sand is safer for the next person who walks on it. By moving away from traditional wood fires and the negative ecosystem impacts and "zombie embers" they leave behind, we’ve embraced a 100% clean-burning propane model that protects our coastal neighbors and the delicate "sand dwellers" beneath our feet.
Before and after every event, we hand-sift the area; we also co-host monthly beach cleanups and advocate for our coastal heritage with local leaders to ensure San Diego’s beaches remain a national benchmark for cleanliness. For us, it’s about more than just a fire—it's about making the shoreline safer and more welcoming for San Diego’s community, and preserving it for generations to come.
